Tips for a Healthy Motivated Lifestyle

Oftentimes it can be hard to keep up with a new workout routine or diet regimen. Some days it may feel like all hope is lost. I am here to tell you that I have those days too, and so has everyone I’ve encountered in my life. But it is not over. Far from it.

Here are a few tips that I and close friends of mine have used in the past (and present) in order to stay motivated and focused on the goal.

Tip #1. Think happy.

It sounds silly, but sometimes silly works. Instead of focusing on what is bad. Focus on what is good, even if it’s small. Imagine how happy you would be at the end of your workout, or the end of your week once you’ve gotten a few of your health goals completed. The mind is a powerful thing. Happiness works!

Tip #2 Look Around You

Who do you look up to in life? Is it your dad? A celebrity? A famous chef? If they have something that you don’t – try and look up or ask them their habits and how they found success. Chances are they’re human just like you and whatever they are doing that is working – it is something that you can do too!

Tip #3 Be Patient

Rome wasn’t built in a day. My high school Geography teacher used to say that all the time. I don’t think I understood exactly what she meant then; but I do now. It means slow down, forgive myself if I happen to mess up or fail at one of my goals. And most of all – be patient. Most of the time it’s not the failure of the goal itself, it’s the time it takes to reach it. Slow down! Realize that you have a good head on your shoulders, think happy and thinks will fall into place sooner or later 🙂

These tips are words that I have lived most of my adult life by, and I know that you can too. If you are patient, mindful, and paying attention to your surroundings – a lot of the *hard* work has already been done for you.
